Janette Esser Collins Carpenter Hamilton went to eternal peace on April 14, 2023, in Boerne, Texas. She was born May 9, 1930, to Walter and Lillie (Haag) Esser in Boerne. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, John Collins, Jack Carpenter and Damon Hamilton; son-in-law, Isaac Marx; brotherin- law, Tonny Massey; and niece, Lori Massey McGowen.
Janette was a lifelong resident of Boerne and is part of one of the original German families of the area. She was very proud of her family heritage and loved telling others that in her lifetime she never lived more than 6 miles from the downtown area of Boerne. Janette graduated from Boerne High School in 1947. She married John Collins in 1948 and was blessed with 5 daughters which they raised on their dairy farm until Johnny’s passing in 1969. In 1976, she married Jack Carpenter and welcomed three stepchildren into the family. In 1991, she married Damon Hamilton and welcomed two more stepchildren into her family.
Janette is survived by her daughters, Sharon Stanford (Gary), Patricia Brown (Steve), Connie Marx, Carol Reagan (Joel), and Anita Mills (Dexter Grayson), and stepchildren, Judy Davis (Robert), Buddy Carpenter (Edna), Betty Jo Lange (Mike), Debbie Hamilton and John Hamilton. She is also survived by her sister, Lorraine Massey, and niece, Teri Stewart (Kevin). She has 12 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 7 step-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are her grandsons and grandson’s in-law: Rick Willett, Blake Reagan, Jason Marx, Jones Reagan, Clinton Mills, Brandon Willett, Whit Reagan, Kevin Faglie, Mike Edwards, Dayton Isaacs and Chris Amos. Honorary Pallbearers are her granddaughters and granddaughter’s in-law: Jennifer Stanford Edwards, Bridgett Willett Faglie, Cody Stanford Isaacs, Heide Willett, Carlye Amos, Dani Willett, Monica Reagan, Vanessa Marx, Stephanie Reagan, Tanya Mills, and Danyell Reagan.
