Emma Rose Faris

Emma Rose Faris lived a full life in her 91 years here on earth and was welcomed into Jesus’ loving arms on Sunday morning, Feb. 20, 2022. She was a loving, nurturing mother who was full of motherly advice, freely given, even if you were not a child of hers, whether you wanted to hear it or not. She put others first, being a caregiver for her mom and dad’s every need, including bringing them to live with us until their death. She was a devoted wife and mother believing that moms should stay home to raise their children.

Later in life, she had a variety of jobs including working at the Dutch Boy Club in Boerne and the Boerne H-E-B pharmacy, where she made many new friends. Anyone who would come to her home would be well fed, displaying her talent for cooking and taking little to make enough for all who were there.

One of many favorites were her chicken and dumplings. She loved her children unconditionally and supported them in all of their endeavors, even going as far as to help start and sponsor the Boerne Rodeo Club at Boerne High School in the 70s. She loved her home in Boerne and displayed it with her green thumb, enjoying her many flowers and plants. She also enjoyed feeding and watching the wildlife that always surrounded her home.

She will be truly missed by so many, and we are so blessed to have had her for so many years. We find comfort in knowing where she is and who she is with and that someday we will be welcomed back into her loving arms.

Emma is preceded in death by her parents Raymond R. Joy and Emma Evelyn Jones Joy; three sisters: Betty Nell, Bessie and Shirley; two brothers Leonard and Charles.

She is survived by her four children, Perry Faris, Bonnie Wakefield (Scott), Larry Faris (Judy), and Rosemary Faris; sister, Mary Velma Flesher; seven grandchildren, Greg King (Angela), Bret Faris (Kim), Kelly Sumpter (Joe), Kristen Kunczt (Andrew), Garret Clark, Rodney Faris (Megan) and Rustin Faris (Rachel); 11 great grandchildren, Ryan and Ava King, Levi and Logan Faris, William and Avery Sumpter, Griffin and Olivia Clark, Remington Rose Faris, Garin Faris and baby Declan Faris on the way; close friends Mick Mikulenka, Marilyn Guimarin, Sue Pittman and Charlotte Lynch; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home in Boerne, TX. Funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Joshua deSteiguer on Monday, Feb. 28, 2022, 1 p.m. also at the Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home with the interment to follow at the Boerne City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her honor to, the First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, 1900 Goat Creek Parkway, Kerrville, TX 78028.
