Hounds defeat YMLA, face SACS next

After a week off the Boerne High boys basketball returned to action with a road game against the Young Men’s Leadership Academy in San Antonio.

After a week off the Boerne High boys basketball returned to action with a road game against the Young Men’s Leadership Academy in San Antonio.

BHS won the non-district contest Tuesday, 68-55, and is 16-6 overall. The Hounds visit SACS on Friday as they continue non-district action.

Boerne shot it well all night and went 26 for 40 from the field for 65 percent.

Devin Styles led all scorers with 27 points on 11 of 14 shooting for 79 percent. Styles hit a 3-pointer, went 10 for 13 from 2-point range and then made 4 free throws.

Barrett Pape also shot it well and was 7 of 11 from the field for 64 percent. Pape went to the line 10 times and made 7 free throws for 70 percent.

Houston Hendrix added 8 points and also finished with 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals.

Koen Wolff netted 7, Trevor Agarwal. Added 3 and Preston Thompson had 2.

Styles grabbed 6 rebounds, Pape had 4 boards and deflected 5 shots, while Wolff dished out 5 assists.
