BHS boys still unbeaten in 26-4A soccer

Boerne High picked up its third shutout in a row and fourth overall in boys district soccer after the Greyhounds blanked Bandera Friday at Boerne ISD Stadium.

Boerne High picked up its third shutout in a row and fourth overall in boys district soccer after the Greyhounds blanked Bandera Friday at Boerne ISD Stadium.

The Greyhounds beat the Bulldogs, 5-0, to close out the first round at 6-0 and stand at 14-2-1 overall. BHS is off Tuesday before beginning the second round Friday at home against Fredericksburg a team they defeated 5-0 in the first round.

Boerne has won its six district matches by a combined score of 44-3.

On Friday, the Hounds were up 2-0 by halftime after a throw-in by Joe Ballenger was knocked in by the Bandera keeper for an own goal. Landon Murphy then added a goal before the break and the 2-0 lead.

In the second half, Murphy added another goal, Sam Theiss knocked in a goal and then Jake Herman added a goal to close out the scoring.

Murphy also finished with an assist in the match.
