CORPUS CHRISTI - There were mixed results for the Boerne High soccer teams at this year's regional tournament at Cabanas Field.
The Boerne High girls won the region, but the boys team was knocked out of the playoffs and their two-year reign as state champion came to a close at the hands of Hidalgo.
The Lady Hounds play at the state tournament Wednesday.
Girls
Sophia Harper scored the only goal in Saturday's regional championship match with district foe Davenport to give the Lady Hounds a 1-0 win.
On Friday, Boerne defeated Calallen in the regional semis.
Boys
The Boerne boys were looking for a three-peat but came up short after Hidalgo defeated the Greyhounds in penalty kicks.
The Pirates made four of five PKs and the Hounds only made two.
BHS beat Corpus Christi London in the semifinals on Friday in the rain, wind and cold.
