Tapatio hosts Member-Member golf tournament

The Tapatio Men’s Golf Association held a Member-Member two-day golf event and Mark Mobley and Phillip Byrd won their flight and were also the overall winners of the tournament.

The Tapatio Men’s Golf Association held a Member-Member two-day golf event and Mark Mobley and Phillip Byrd won their flight and were also the overall winners of the tournament.

There were five flights of two-man teams that competed in the tourney and cash prizes were awarded to the top two finishing teams.

Mobley and Byrd bested all other flight winners to take the championship and have their names engraved on a plaque in the clubhouse plus cash prizes.

All flight winners gathered at hole No. 9 for a championship shootout after regular play ended.

Teeing off into a strong headwind complicated the hole, which Mobley and Byrd won with a par. Mobley and Byrd competed in the 4th Flight, but finished as the top team on the final day.

Closest to the pin winners were: 

Day 1

No. 3 Sean Villegas, No. 7 Ron Mangum, No. 11 Travis Gonzalez and No. 17 Brett Motheral

Day 2  

No. 7 Pat Childress, No. 11 JJ Montanaro and No. 17 David Keel.

Gerald Killan and Ronald Barden came in 2nd in Flight 4.

Sean Villegas and Austin Dolch came in 2nd in Flight 1.

Jack Morrow and David Stelmazewski were the Flight 2 winners.

David Cato and Charlie Burns tied for 1st place in Flight 5.

Tadd Marler and Jake Marler came in 2nd in Flight 2.

David Keel and Ron Mangum tied for 1st place in Flight 5.

Tom Fuchs and Keith Hembree were the Flight 3 winners.

Frank Cohen and Ron Bowman were the Flight 1 winners
