The good news for Comfort is that they won the game 3-2 in extra innings. CHS improves to 6-1 in district and 14-11 overall. The Deer faced Florence on Thursday before hosting Blanco on Monday for Senior Night.

Comfort scored first in the contest with a run in the third but Llano answered in the top of the fourth to tie it at 1-1. The Deer retook the lead in the fifth at 2-1, but the Yellowjackets were able to respond again and knotted it up at 2-2 with a run in the sixth.

It stayed that way until the Deer won it in the ninth with a walk-off hit. Kaydence Stehling walked to start the bottom of the ninth and then Katie Haffner singled to put runners at first and second. The next batter hit into a fielder’s choice and Haffner was thrown out at second but Stehling advanced to third on the play.
