The Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball team hosted Antonian in a non-district game last Thursday and suffered only its second loss of the season.

The Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball team hosted Antonian in a non-district game last Thursday and suffered only its second loss of the season.

Antonian defeated the Eagles, 49-44, to drop Geneva at 26-2 to close out the regular season.

Geneva has a first-round bye and will open the playoffs Tuesday at home.

Antonian took an early lead and was up 13-5 and went into the half ahead 20-13 after the Eagles outscored them in the second, 8-7.

The Lady Apaches won the third by two points, 18-16, and opened up a 38-29 advantage. Geneva tried to rally in the fourth and outscored the Apaches but only by five points, 16-11, to fall by four points, 49-45.

Alexa Elizondo led the Eagles with 16 points, Maegan Riebel and Chloe Donnell both netted 10, Brynn Riebel finished with 4, Micah Howard added 3 and Sydney Griffey scored 2.

Donnell grabbed 10 rebounds, Maegan Riebel and Brynn Riebel both snagged 7 rebounds and Elizondo came up with 2 steals.
