Library to take teens back in time

The Patrick Heath Public Library is celebrating its service to the Boerne community and all its other patrons for the past 70 years. All year long, the library will be showcasing the ’50s to give patrons a taste of what the community and country were like back then.

On Friday, February 25, at 4:15 p.m. library staff will be transporting young people ages 11 to 17 back to a time filled with bowling, playing jacks and marbles, listening to some great music and, of course, eating food that was popular in the 1950s. The event is free for participants.

“For many residents, the Patrick Heath Public Library is all they know, but we have been serving this community for 70 years – and at four different locations,” library Director Kelly Skovbjerg said about what the facility is offering throughout the year. “The staff is having a great time creating programming for all ages. We look forward to focusing on the teens this month.”
