Geneva softball routs Ro-Hawks, 16-1

The Geneva School of Boerne softball team bounced back from last week’s tough loss to Holy Cross with a big win over visiting Randolph on Tuesday.

The Eagles soared by the Ro-Hawks 16-1 in four innings and improved to 3-3 this year.

Geneva traveled to Corpus Christi to play John Paul II on Friday and will also be on the road Tuesday to take on Schertz John Paul II.

In Tuesday’s contest, Randolph actually scored first with a run in the first but that would be their only offense in the game.

Geneva answered with 6 in the second, 9 in the third and another in the fourth to kick in the mercy rule.

The Eagles finished with 11 hits in the game, while pitcher Tessa Murphy notched the win from the circle to improve to 2-0. Murphy helped her cause and went 3 for 3 at the plate, with one of those hits a double and she also drove in a run.

Madeline Egbert legged out a double and drove in 2 runs, Kate Friesenhahn knocked out a double and picked up 3 RBI, Lily Flora was 2 for 2 at the plate and finished with 2 RBI, Maegan Riebel smacked a double and collected 2 RBI, while Trinity Cloud hit a single and a double and pushed in a run.
