Boerne buries Bandera baseball, 14-0

After playing each district team once in the first round, the Hound hardball team will now play a two-game series with each of the district squads for the rest of the regular season.

Boerne began its series with Bandera on Wednesday and defeated the Bulldogs, 14-0. The Greyhounds continued their series with Bandera on Friday and play Fredericksburg twice next week.

BHS is 19-2 overall and 6-0 in district. They knocked out 12 hits in Wednesday’s game, pushed back a day because of the weather, and recorded two home runs after Dylan Perez and Riley Pechacek both homered in the third inning.

Perez and Pechacek both also singled, scored twice and drove in 2 runs each, Brooks Perez doubled, picked up 2 RBI and scored twice, Caleb Cloutier walked and scored, Cam Johnson walked and pushed in a run, Jace Preston singled, walked, picked up an RBI and plated 2 runs, Hutson Hendrix singled, walked and scored twice, Cale Blalock knocked out 2 singles, Connor Shill walked and collected an RBI, Xander Cloudy singled and drove in 3 runs, while Walker Hill hit 2 singles, picked up 2 RBI and scored once.

Cloudy went 3.1 innings and didn’t give up a up or walk and struck out 4 to earn the victory from the bump. Jake Wright closed out the fourth, while Campbell Jackson threw in the fifth and yielded one hit and fanned 2 batters.
