The Boerne Champion boys soccer team had a tough battle with Tivy last Friday and fell behind early to the Kerrville school but rallied to win the match.

Tivy went up 2-0 by halftime but the Chargers recorded three second- half goals to pull off the 3-2 victory.

Champion improves to 11-1-3 overall and 8-1-2 in district. The Chargers also clinched a playoff spot with Friday’s victory after not making it last year.

With three matches left after Friday, the Chargers can win this year’s district title if they win all three. They played Pieper Tuesday, host Smithson Valley on Friday and then close out the regular season with Seguin.

Bentley McCool, Matthew Magaw and Crew Pulliam all tallied goals for the Chargers while Alfredo Castellanos recorded all three assists in the match.

Tanner Perkins was in goal for the Chargers last Friday.
