Both the Boerne High soccer teams were in action Tuesday night in San Antonio against Great Hearts Northern Oaks for district matches and won easily.
It was a sweep for the Greyhound squads that picked up victories with a combined scored of 20-0.
The Hounds play Bandera next to close out the first round. The BHS boys host the Bulldogs and the Borne girls are at Bandera.
Girls
The BHS girls won Tuesday’s match, 11-0, and improve to 9-3-4 overall and 2-1-2 in district.
Four different girls had multiple goals after Hannah Bowen tallied 3 goals, while Madeline Davis, Regan Mroz and Brooke Milton all had 2 goals. Gigi Hernandez and Annika Fairchild both recorded 1 goal each.
Nine of the goals were assisted and three BHS players also had double-digit assists after Kate Spiekerman, Davis and Bowen recorded 2 assists apiece, while Hernandez,
Kassie Lozano and A’Marie Ramirez had one assist each.
Boys
BHS recorded a 9-0 win over Great Hearts Northern Oaks. The Hounds improve to 13-2-1 and are still unbeaten in district at 5-0.
Sam Theiss finished with a hat trick and scored 3 goals, while Landon Murphy added 2 goals. Jake Herman, Bear Kelly, Justin Moore and Juan Castro all recorded single goal each.
Six of the goals were assisted and Jess Gonzales and Joe Ballenger finished with 2 assists apiece, while Murphy and Theiss also had one assist each in the match.
