Hounds close out district play at 10-0

Boerne High wrapped up the District 28-4A district title last week but the Greyhounds still had unfinished business on Tuesday when the boys basketball team visited Davenport to close out the regular season.

Boerne High wrapped up the District 28-4A district title last week but the Greyhounds still had unfinished business on Tuesday when the boys basketball team visited Davenport to close out the regular season.

BHS was chasing a perfect district mark and achieved it by whipping the Wolves, 72-28. The Greyhounds end the regular season at 27-6 and 10-0 in 28-4A.

Boerne faces Cuero in the first round Monday at Northside Gym, 6:30 p.m.

The Hounds used a fast start to build a 27-7 first-quarter lead. The Hounds were consistent after that and netted 15 in each of the final three periods.

After the first, Davenport scored 7, 8 and 6 to close it out.

Devin Styles paced the team with 21 points, Preston Thompson and Trevor Agarwal both tallied 10, Sam Waters added 6, Houston Hendrix, Barrett Pape, Koen Wolff and Jeffrey Brown all scored 4, while Koby Hunter, Josh Hines, Braden Smith and Colton Hoegemeyer all chipped in with 2.
