Tapatio hosts tourney to salute veterans and first responders

The Tapatio Springs Salute to Veterans and First Responders Golf Tournament was held on Jan. 21. The tournament was sponsored by the Tapatio Ladies Golf Association and Tapatio Men’s Golf Association.

The annual event at Tapatio Springs raised funds to be distributed to Boerne VFW, Kendall County Sheriff’s Department, Boerne Fire Department, Kendall County EMS, and Boerne Police Department.

The Tapatio Ladies Golf Association president is Lori Reese and the Tapatio Men’s Golf association president is Ron Bowman.

In a joint statement, they announced that, “Tapatio is appreciative of the service of the individuals in all the Emergency Services of Boerne. Also, we appreciate the many veterans who live in Boerne and at Tapatio Springs which includes include many of our members.”

The Salute to Veterans and First Responders kicked off at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 21 with a display of the colors by Boerne VFW followed by The National Anthem.
