Boerne ISD coaches honored by THSCA

Several Boerne ISD coaches were recently honored by the Texas High School Coaches Association for their work with the fall sports teams.

Boerne High’s Amy Ruede was named the 4A Region 8 Team Tennis Assistant Coach of the Year after the Greyhounds played in the state finals last fall.

Champion’s Joey Cantu was named the 5A Region 8 Team Tennis Head Coach of the Year after leading the Chargers to last fall’s regional finals.

Champion’s Alberto Escalante was named the Region 8 Water Polo Head Coach of the Year after leading the Charger boys to the state finals. 

Champion’s Mike Gillette was named the Region 8 Water Polo Assistant Coach of the Year after helping the Charger boys reach the state finals.
