It took until last weekend, but the Comfort girls basketball team finally knows who its first-round playoff opponent will be.
Comfort faces Nixon-Smiley Tuesday at Boerne High, 6 p.m. That game will be followed by Randolph playing Blanco at Greyhound Gym, 8 p.m.
Nixon-Smiley was tied with Ran dolph and Marion for second in 26-3A and they played in a round-robin tournament last weekend to break the tie and the Mustangs earned the No. 2 seed.
Comfort is the No. 3 seed in 25-3A and played Nixon-Smiley earlier in the year. The Deer led most of the way but lost 41-38.
Comfort is 14-16 this year and went 4-4 in district, while the Mustangs are 19-16 overall and went 6-4 in league play.
In other playoff news, the BHS girls opened the postseason Monday against Cuero, while Champion faces Georgetown Tuesday at Lehman, 6:30 p.m.
Geneva is also scheduled to open the playoffs.
