After playing two games in Corpus Christi last weekend, the Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball team was back on the road Tuesday with a trip to Austin to take on Veritas Academy in a district game.

Just like in Corpus Christi, the Lady Eagles came away with a convincing win.

The Geneva girls defeated Veritas on Tuesday, 85-26, and improved to 21-5 overall and 6-0 in district. They were home Friday to take on John Paul II.

Four Eagles players were in double figures after Maegan Riebel led the team with 18 points and Brynn Riebel added 15, while Madeline Egbert and Kyra Petty both finished with 11.

Morgan Howard chipped in with 8 points, Lindsay Lee and Suzie Nilsson netted 6 points apiece, Hailey Kirchner and Sopris Oglesby both scored 4 and Tessa Murphy and added 2.

Kirchner led the team in rebounding after she grabbed 6 boards, Petty had 5 rebounds and Maegan Riebel came up with 4 rebounds, 10 assists and 2 steals, while Egbert had 3 steals.

Geneva shot 61 percent in the game, made 10 3-pointers and only shot 2 free throws all night.
