Charger swimmers get in final tune up before district

In its final meet before district, the Champion swim team participated in the NEISD Winter Invitational and turned in several strong performances last weekend.

RESULTS

(Top 10) In the girls 200 relay, Champion’s Kate Deykin, Cameron Kellogg, Regan Garcia and Cora Skogg teamed up for 3rd in 1:55, while the boys relay of Will Harrison, Griff Orloff, Bexon Harrison and Matthew Jeffery combined for a time of 1:42 for 2nd.

In the 200 free, Madi Neuman and Sarah Tolar went 8-9 with times of 2:15.06 and 2:15.10, while Jake Canales was 10th in the boys 200 free with a 1:59 and Ethan Roecker was 11th in 2:00.

Kate Deykin won the girls 200-yard IM after finishing in a time of 2:19, Lilly Schiffelbein took 3rd in 2:22, while Regan Garcia came in 2nd in the 50 freestyle at 25.35.

William Tolar came in 4th in the 50 freestyle after clocking in at 23.16, Will Harrison finished 9th in 23.43 and Matthew Jeffery placed 11th in 23.58.

Cora Skoog placed 3rd in the 100 butterfly after recording a 1:03, while Lilly Schiffelbein and Audrey Olivo went 7-8 at 1:06 and 1:07.

In the boys 100 fly, Bexon Harrison took 2nd with a 54.62 and Palmer Guerra was 11th in 1:00.

Regan Garcia finished 4th in the 100 freestyle after recording a 55.66 and Cameron Kellogg was 6th in 56.67.

Bexon Harrison won the boys 100 free in 48.65, Griff Orloff was 2nd in 51.06 and Matthew Jeffery took 6th in 52.29.

Cora Skoog won the girls 500-yard freestyle in 5:26, Lilly Schiffelbein came in 6th in the race at 5:49, while in the 100 backstroke, Regan Garcia and Kate Deykin finished 5-6 with times of 1:04 and 1:05.

Cameron Kellogg clocked in at 1:12 for 2nd in the 100-yard breaststroke, while Madi Neuman and Victoria Sperber finished 5th and 6th in the race after turning in times of 1:17 and 1:18.

In the boys 100 breaststroke, Palmer Guerra placed 6th after recording a 1:07.69 and Jake Canales was 9th in 1:09.

In the girls 400-freestyle relay, Audrey Olivo, Madi Neuman, Sarah Tolar and Lilly Schiffelbein came in 6th after combining for a time of 4:07, while the Charger boys had two squads place in the top seven.

Jake Canales, Ian Rutledge, Ethan Roecker and William Tolar teamed up for 4th with a time of 3:37 and the team of Zach Staska, Palmer Guerra, Roberto Perez Puente and Cole Breckenridge combined for 7th with a 3:42.
