Geneva girls beat two Corpus Christi teams

The Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball ball team played a couple of Corpus Christi schools last weekend and won both.

The Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball ball team played a couple of Corpus Christi schools last weekend and won both.

First, the Eagles beat Corpus Christi Incarnate Word on Friday and then beat Corpus Christi John Paul II on Saturday.

Geneva improves to 20-5 overall and is 5-0 in district. They were at Austin Veritas on Tuesday to continue league play.

CC Incarnate Word

Geneva beat the Angels of CC Incarnate Word, 51-39.

Kyra Petty had a strong game with 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists, while Maegan Riebel added 14 points and 7 rebounds.

Madeline Egbert finished with 8 points, Morgan Howard netted 6, Brynn Riebel chipped in with 3 and Hailey Kirchner and Tessa Murphy both scored 2.

Brynn Riebel also grabbed 10 rebounds and Egbert came up with 4 steals.

CC John Paul II

The Eagles blew out CC JP II, 71-20, on Saturday.

Four Geneva players were in double digits after Maegan Riebel led the team with 16 points, Brynn Riebel added 12, while Kyra Petty and Morgan Howard both scored 10.

Madeline Egbert finished with 7, Suzie Nilsson and Sopris Oglesby recorded 6 points apiece and Hailey Kirchner chipped in with 4.

Petty led the team on the boards with 8 rebounds, Maegan Riebel had 7 rebounds and Brynn Riebel and Howard grabbed 6 boards each.

Maegan Riebel also added 4 assists and 4 steals to her totals, while Egbert dished out 4 assists as well.
