The Comfort girls basketball team struggled to get its offense going Friday in Blanco and lost to the Lady Panthers, 65-28.
With the loss the Deer fall to 11-16 overall and 0-3 in District 5-3A play. They hosted Florence on Tuesday.
Comfort only scored 2 points in the first and 8 in the second to fall behind 23-10 by halftime.
The Deer hit for 10 in the third but were outscored by Blanco in the quarter, 19-10, to trail 42-20 as the game went to the final stanza.
The Lady Panthers turned in their best scoring quarter of the night with 23 points and held the Deer to 8 to wrap up the win.
Meghan Davis had a good night for Comfort and tallied 12 points and grabbed 22 rebounds to go with 5 steals, while Bailey Feldman added 7 points, Jael Hernandez and Katelyn Cook scored 3 each, Katie Haffner had 2 and Emily Rivera hit a free throw.
Hernandez and Rivera both dished out 2 assists apiece.
