Geneva School of Boerne won a close game over Brentwood Christian Monday night in girls basketball after the Eagles rallied to top the Bears in overtime.
The Geneva girls had a strong fourth quarter and tallied 20 points to tie it before winning it in OT, 60-56.
Geneva improves to 18-5 overall and 3-0 in district. They visited Corpus Christi on Friday to take on C.C. Incarnate Word.
Brentwood Christian held a 21-19 lead at halftime and then the Bears outscored the Eagles in the third quarter, 19-11, to take a 40-30 lead into the fourth period.
That’s when Geneva began its rally and outscored Brentwood in the fourth quarter, 20-10, to tie it up and send it to overtime.
In the extra stanza, the Eagles tallied 10 points, while Brentwood only managed 6 to give Geneva the four-point victory.
Maegan Riebel continues to play at a high level after she recorded 41 points. Riebel scored 34 points in Geneva’s previous game for a season high and then topped that on Monday for 75 points in two games.
Riebel didn’t make a 3-pointer but was 16 for 27 from 2-point range for 59 percent shooting and then made 9 of 11 free throws for 82 percent to get her 41 points.
Kyra Petty netted 10 points, Brynn Riebel scored 4, Suzie Nilsson added 3 and Morgan Howard chipped in with 2.
Maegan Riebel made it a double-double with 10 rebounds to go with her 41 points. She also came up with 4 steals and 3 assists, while Petty and Brynn Riebel both snagged 8 rebounds. Petty also recorded 3 steals, Howard had 6 rebounds and Madeline Egbert grabbed 5 boards.
