The Boerne High girls basketball team was on the road Friday night for a district contest against Navarro and took control of the 27-4A contest from the opening tip.
BHS quadrupled up the Lady Panthers in the first quarter, 16-4, on its way to a 50-26 victory.
The Lady Greyhounds improve to 22-1 overall and 4-0 in district. They host Canyon Lake Tuesday before visiting Fredericksburg on Friday.
After winning the first quarter in last Friday’s game, 16-4, Boerne won the second quarter, 12-8 and held a 28-12 lead at halftime.
The Lady Hounds were good at the line and went 5 for 6 for 83 percent compared to a 2 for 6 showing at the line for the Lady Panthers (33.3 percent).
Jenna Ruede played all 32 minutes and led the team with 13 points on 5 of 8 shooting and was 3 for 6 from the 3-point line.
Averi Aaron dropped in a dozen, Abby Smith tallied 11 points, Jamie Ruede added 9 and Savannah Salinas scored 5 as only five BHS players scored in the game.
Aaron grabbed 10 rebounds and had a block, while Jenna Ruede dished out 5 assists and came up with 8 steals.
