The Boerne High boys basketball team had a good start in District 27-4A Tuesday night after the Greyhounds picked up a road win in Wimberley.
Boerne topped the Texans by double digits, 47-37, to begin league play at 1-0. The Hounds are 16-5 overall and hosted Navarro on Friday before visiting Canyon Lake on Tuesday.
The Greyhounds entered this week as the No. 6 ranked 4A boys in the state according to TABC.
Wimberley was winning in the first quarter 13-8, but Boerne turned it around in the second quarter and outscored the Texans, 17-9, to take a 25-22 lead into halftime.
It was more of the same in the third as BHS doubled up Wimberley, 12-6, and opened up a 37-28 advantage. The teams were basically even in the fourth quarter as the Hounds won the stanza by a point, 10-9.
