It was Senior Night at Geneva on Tuesday when the Eagles hosted St. Anthony in a district boys basketball game.

No doubt it was a night the three seniors - Aidan Cristal, Ethan Valdez and Landon Worrich - will remember after the Eagles defeated the Yellow Jackets in overtime.

Geneva won Tuesday’s game against St. Anthony, 65-60 in OT. The Eagles are 15-14 overall and 5-6 in district. They are scheduled to play Austin Brentwood Christian next.

Geneva had a fast start and was up 18-7 after one and then won the second, 15-5, for the 33-12 lead, but a scrappy St. Anthony squad managed to rally in the second half and tie it.

The Yellow Jackets outscored Geneva in the third by 10 points, 18-8, but the Eagles were still up by 11 points at 41-30 as the game went into the fourth quarter.

However, St. Anthony wasn’t done with its rally and had its best quarter of the night in the fourth after they tied it by dropping in 22 points and doubled up the Eagles team that scored 11.

It was 52-52 at the end of regulation, but the Yellow Jackets ran out of steam and the Eagles stung them in the extra period, 13-8, for the win.

Chaz Lutz led the Eagles with 22 points, Colton Lutz added 15, Aiden Cristal scored 10 and Guy George finished with 8.
