Comfort hosted Jourdanton Tuesday night in boys basketball and almost erased a 16-point deficit in the fourth quarter, but the Indians held on for a 57-54 victory.
The Cats fall to 7-10 on the season. They will take a break and resume play on Dec. 28 at West Campus.
The reason the Bobcats played at night was because the school was still open this week. They start their holiday break a week later than most districts.
In Tuesday’s game, the Bobcat offense was as quiet as a Chick-fil-A on Sunday for three quarters but exploded for 26 points in the fourth period.
Comfort tallied 9 points in the first and 7 in the second to go with 12 in the third for 28 points through three quarters before adding the 26 in the final stanza.
Jourdanton was consistent throughout and hit in double digits all four quarters. They scored 15 in the first and 14 in the second for a 29-17 lead at halftime.
The Indians outscored the Cats in the third, 15-12 and held a 44-28 lead after three.
Comfort doubled up Jourdanton in the third, 26-13, but it wasn’t enough to catch the Indians as they came up 3-points shy.
