Chargers tie, win in last 2 soccer matches

Champion hosted Lehman on Monday and played the Lobos to a draw. On Tuesday, Champion visited Seguin and earned a lopsided victory.

Champion is 3-4-3 overall and 2-3-1 in district.

The Chargers are home Friday to host Kerrville Tivy.

Vs. Seguin

Champion picked up its second district win of the year Tuesday when they visited Seguin and won the match, 7-0.

After two scoreless matches prior to Tuesday, the Chargers tallied 7 goals after Jack Weltens finished with a hat trick and scored 3 goals, while Matthew Magaw, Matthew Duran, Gabe Hernandez and Calvin Perryman all netted single goals.

Vs. Lehman

Champion hosted Kyle Lehman on Tuesday and neither team could punch in a goal and the match ended at 0-0.

The Chargers were also kept off the board in its previous match with Veterans Memorial as their defense has played well but they struggled offensively until Tuesday.
