The Comfort girls basketball team finished up the regular season Tuesday in Ingram by defeating the Lady Warriors and clinching the No. 3 seed in 25-3A.

The Comfort girls basketball team finished up the regular season Tuesday in Ingram by defeating the Lady Warriors and clinching the No. 3 seed in 25-3A.

Comfort won the contest, 61-29, and finished the regular season at 14-16 overall and 4-4 in district play.

While Comfort knows it’ll be the third seed in its district, its playoff opponent still isn’t known because three teams in the opposing district are all tied for second and are going to play it out for seeding.

Randolph, Marion and Nixon-Smiley are in a three-way tie in 26-3A for second. Marion played Nixon-Smiley on Thursday and the winner plays Randolph and they may even have a playback if the wrong team losses. The Deer will get the No. 2 seed from 26-3A.

Comfort was winning Tuesday’s game, 15-9 after one and then outscored the Warriors in the second, 9-5 for the 10-point lead at the break, 24-14.

The Deer won the third quarter, 12-5, and opened a 36-19 lead and then blew it open in the fourth after they heated up for 25 points, while Ingram tallied 10 points.
