The Boerne Champion girls basketball team closed out non-district play on Saturday after doubling up Cuero, 60-30 on Saturday and bumping its record to 12-3.
The game was originally scheduled for Friday but moved to Saturday because the Gobblers football team was playing in the state semifinals Friday in the Alamodome before the Boerne High – Tyler Chapel Hill contest.
Champion opens up district play Tuesday at Wagner for its first game in 26-5A and then hosts Veterans Memorial on Friday.
