The Geneva School of Boerne boys basketball team took on the Great Hearts Northern Oaks Griffins Tuesday night and recorded a 68-42 win.

Geneva continues to play well and improves to 11-2 overall. Up next, the Eagles play in the Comfort tournament this weekend that started Thursday and continues through Saturday.

In Tuesday’s game, the Eagles came out the gate with lots of energy which gave them the 18-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. 

Great Hearts outscored the Eagles in the second quarter, 15-13, but the Eagles still held a 31-21 lead at the break.

In the second half, Geneva came out with a defensive mindset and started the quarter on a 10-0 run to stretch the lead to 20 within the first two minutes of the third quarter. 

The Eagles outscored Great Hearts in the third period 23-7 and opened up a 54-28 advantage.

The teams played even in the final stanza and both dropped in 14 points to give the Eagles the 26-point win.

Chaz Lutz paced Geneva with 19 points, Spencer Yarborough added 12, Logan Fritcher tallied 9, Wyatt Bruss recorded 8, while Colton Lutz and Griffin Freiling both netted 7.
