The Lady Eagles from Geneva School of Boerne challenged St. Michael’s and defeated the Austin school on Tuesday, 58-45.
Geneva is 7-3 overall and snaps a two-game skid with Tuesday’s win. The Eagles are in the Lady Guard Invitational in Brook Hill this weekend.
Geneva was up 17-8 at the end of one and then the teams played to a 9-9 tie in the second to give the Eagles a 26-17 halftime lead.
Geneva won the third quarter by a point, 17-16, and took the fourth period by three points, 15-12, to claim the second half by four points, 32-28, and win the game by 13 points.
Maegan Riebel paced the team with 17 points, Kyra Petty added 11 and Madeline Egbert tallied 10 as three Eagles were in double digits.
Bethany Deluna and Hailey Kirchner both netted 6 points for Geneva.
Riebel also led the squad in two other categories after she grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 5 assists. Egbert, Brynn Riebel, Morgan Howard and Hailey Kirchner all grabbed 4 rebounds as well and Brynn Riebel came up with 3 steals and Maegan Riebel had 2 steals.
