The Comfort High girls basketball team jumped all over La Pryor early in Tuesday’s game and went on to post a 60-9 victory.
With the win the Deer improve to 9-7 overall. They will compete in the Junction Tournament this weekend.
Comfort was leading 16-1 at the end of the first quarter and then outscored La Pryor in the second, 14-2, to take a 30-3 lead into the halftime break.
It was more of the same in the second half after the Deer won the third and fourth quarters by the identical score of 15-3 to outscore their opponents 30-6 in the second half.
Bailey Feldman led the team with 12 points, Katie Haffner finished with 10 points, Jackie Zapata hit for 8, Jael Hernandez and Meghan Davis tallied 6 points apiece, Katelyn Cook cooked up 5 points, Lula Jaime chipped in with 4, Leslie Robledo netted 3, while Janelly Lopez, Danielle Ruelas and Emily Rivera all scored 2.
Davis and Zapata grabbed 10 rebounds apiece and Feldman tallied 9 boards, Jaime had 4 assists, Cook and Davis recorded 3 assists each, while Zapata and Hernandez had 5 steals each and Haffner 4.
