After a nine-day break between games, the Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball team returned to the court with a road trip to San Saba last Friday.

The Lady Armadillos are having a good year and defeated the Lady Eagles, 41- 36. Geneva slips to 6- 3 overall and was home Tuesday to host Austin St. Michael’s. After that, the Eagles are scheduled to play in the Lady Guard Invitational tourney this weekend.

Points were hard to come by for both sides, until the fourth quarter when both teams combined for 31 points. Before that, Geneva was ahead, 24-22, after three quarters.

The Eagles were up 10-8 after one but the Armadillos outscored them in the second, 11-5, to take a 19-15 lead into halftime. Geneva retook the lead in the third after they won the quarter, 9-3, to pull ahead 24-22.

The teams heated up in the fourth and San Saba pulled away by outscoring the Eagles, 19-12.

The Eagles struggled from the outside and went 0 for 16 from 3- point range but still had one player finish in double figures after Maegan Riebel tallied 11 points.

Kyra Petty was a point shy of double digits with 9 points, Madeline Egbert finished with 5 points, Brynn Riebel netted 3, while Morgan Howard and Bethany Deluna scored 2 points apiece.

Deluna led Geneva on the board and in assists after she recorded 8 rebounds and 2 assists, while Petty came up with 4 steals.
