Bobcats almost upset Fredericksburg boys

The Battlin’ Billies held on for the 50-46 win over the Bobcats. CHS is still looking for its first victory of the year and slips to 0-3 this season. The Cats were at Center Point this week and then play in the Harper Tournament this weekend.

In last week’s game, Comfort was leading 16-13 after one but Fred outscored the Cats in the second, 11-6, and held a 24-22 lead at the half.

The Battlin’ Billies won the third quarter, 14-10, and opened up a 38-32 advantage, but the Cats fought back in the fourth and almost caught Fred.

Comfort outscored the Battlin’ Billies in the final period, 14-12, but still came up four points shy.

Jaydin Steward led Comfort with 15 points, Terick Rodriguez added 11, Joel Lozano scored 8, Santos Hernandez added 6, Eli Gilliland had 3, Landon Aguirre hit for 2 and Caleb Van Geffen made a free throw.

Asher Goehmann led Fred with 21 points, Will Degenhardt scored 8, Daniel Schmitt 7, Otto Cornett 6, Reed Spies 4, Barrett Greene 3 and Cameron Tait 1.
