The Boerne Family YMCA will play host to its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Walk from 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday, January 17. The event starts at Main Plaza in downtown Boerne, advances along Main Street to River Road, then returns to Main Plaza.
The public is invited.
King was an American Baptist minister and activist who became the most visible spokesman and leader in the American civil rights movement from 1955 until his assassination in 1968. Information states he advanced civil rights through nonviolence and civil disobedience, inspired by his Christian beliefs and the nonviolent activism of Mahatma Gandhi.
