The Boerne High boys basketball team remained undefeated in district play after the Greyhounds defeated Fredericksburg on the road Saturday and they clubbed Canyon Lake last Tuesday at home.

BHS is 24-6 overall and 7-0 in district. First place will be on the line Tuesday when the Hounds host Wimberley. The Texans are 6-1 in 28-4A with their only loss coming to the Greyhounds, so a win by Boerne keeps them in first and gives them the series sweep, but a Texans win ties them for first with BHS with two left.

Vs. Fredericksburg

Boerne beat Fred, 58-32, Saturday on the Battlin’ Billies home court.

BHS was up 10-5 after one quarter and then outscored Fred in the second, 13-11, for the 23-16 halftime lead.

The Hounds pulled away in the second half and hit for 16 and 19 points, while Fred only managed 8 points in each of the last two periods.

Devin Styles led the team with 20 points, Koen Wolff added 10, Houston Hendrix and Barrett Pape both scored 9, Preston Thompson and Trevor Agarwal netted 3 apiece and Koby Hunter and Jeffrey Brown chipped in with 2 points apiece.

Vs. Canyon Lake

Boerne blew out the Hawks, 71-29.

The Hounds were up 21-3 after one and then outscored Canyon Lake in the second, 11-9, for the 32-12 lead at the break.

BHS broke it open in the third by winning the quarter, 26-2, for the 58-14 advan tage. The Hawks actually won the fourth period but only by two points, 15-13, to close it out.

Devin Styles again had team-high honors with 17 points, Preston Thompson finished with 11, Koen Wolff and Josh Hines added 9 apiece, Trevor Agarwal netted 8, Sam Waters scored 5, Braden Smith had 4, Houston Hendrix chipped in with 3, while Barrett Pape and Colton Hoegemeyer dropped in 2 points each.

Waters, Hoegemeyer and Agarwal all collected 6 rebounds, Wolff dished out 5 assists and Thompson came up with 5 steals.
