Boerne High notched its first 9-0 start in school history with a 34-14 victory over Somerset, Friday at Bulldog Stadium.

Greyhounds 1uarterback Jaxon Baize carved the path for Boerne's historic victory, torching the Bulldogs for four touchdowns. On half of his scores, Baize connected with his brother, Braden Baize.

Brooks Perez and Houston Hendrix were Jaxon Baize's other targets.

Boerne can seal its first perfect regular season in school history with a win over Fredericksburg on Friday at home with the district title on the line.

The Greyhounds scored 14 unanswered points in the first half. Jaxon Baize hit Perez with an 11-yard touchdown pass at the 3:54 mark in the first quarter to draw first blood.

Boerne, twice, almost coughed up the ball to Somerset in the second quarter, as Jaxon Baize nearly threw an interception on back-to-back plays. Jaxon Baize shook off the near-mistakes and connected with Hendrix on a five-yard shotgun pass for the Greyhounds' next score at the 7:00 mark.

Somerset running back Josiah Lugo reared the Bulldogs back in the game, hauling in a 7-yard run score at the 2:52 mark.

Unfazed, Boerne answered 41 seconds later when Jaxon Baize found brother Braden in the end zone from 16 yards to give the Greyhounds a 21-7 lead.

Braden Baize made a big play on the opposite side of the ball in the third quarter, stripping the ball away on a Somerset fumbled handoff that allowed Brendan Levada to recover the ball.

Braden Baize came up big again for the Greyhounds on the team's next possession, scoring on a 14-yard touchdown pass at the 5:46 mark to bump Boerne's lead to 21.

Joe Ballenger kicked a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter to swell the Greyhounds' lead.

Despite being in a sizable hole, Somerset continued battling in the fourth quarter, with Koby Isbell hitting Joshua Lopez for the Bulldogs' last score of the game at the 10:05 mark.

Boerne defensive back Koen Wolff put an extra dagger into Somerset's heart, forcing a Pick-6 at the 36 second mark to close out the game.
