Chargers play in annual Swing for the Cure tourney

The Boerne Champion girls golf team played at the annual Swing for the Cure golf tournament and helped raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness.

The Lady Chargers finished with a 317, 323 and a 326 for a three-day score of 966 for 13th place in a field of 16 teams.

Savannah Dupre finished with rounds of 74, 72 and 71 for a 217 to tie for 10th with three others. Cate Johnson shot rounds of 83, 84 and 81 for a 248, Caroline Franz tallied rounds of 77, 82 and 90 for a 249, Brooke Castillon finished with an 84, 85 and 87 for a 256 and Camryn Leslie finished with rounds of 83, 90 and 87 to card a 260.

Last year, the Champion golf team presented cancer survivor and BMSS coach Alex Carter with a check for $3,000. Champion golf coach Jason Sweatman reports that Carter is now cancer free and was able to join the team for this year’s opening ceremonies and speak to the team.
