Dorothy Ann Van Gerpen Davidson went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022. She was born in Fremont, Nebraska, on Sept. 2, 1933.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Philip Laurance Davidson, of Hardy, Nebraska, whom she met at a school dance the start of her freshman year at Midland College in Fremont, Nebraska. Her Christian testament lives on in the lives of her children: daughter, Susan Ann (Barbara Liedloff) Davidson; sons, Steven Laurance (Lisa) Davidson and Thomas Paul (Andrea) Davidson; grandchildren: Christi Davidson (Landon) Gibbs, Carri Davidson (Joseph) Mecca, Cameron (Heather) Davidson, Stephanie Davidson (Michael) Cartwright and Eric (Kasey) Davidson; great-grandchildren: Emma, Tyler, Jack, Jace, Elliot, Caroline, Katy, Pierce, Camille, and Peyton; sister, Donalee Van Gerpen Carpenter Heier; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy moved to Midland, Texas, with husband, Phil in 1956, and then to Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1960. She was an active mother and community volunteer; a member of First Baptist Church of Corpus Christi, where she taught Sunday School, and sang and played bells in the choir. She was a member of the Corpus Christi Geologists Wives, Petrol, and the Hospitality Chair at the Bay Yacht Club of Corpus Christi.

Dorothy was an involved addition to the Horseshoe Bay, Texas, community, volunteering for the Hill Country Community Theatre, and attending The Church at Horseshoe Bay where she continued to sing and play bells in the choir. In addition to her love of music and theatre, Dorothy enjoyed traveling and gathering with family members and dear friends. She had a gift in seeing the beauty and potential in everything.

On Tuesday, Dorothy joined blessed family and friends, including her parents, Walter

A service will be held at The Church at Horseshoe Bay on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 1 p.m. A private internment with family will follow.
