The Bobcats snapped a 15-game losing streak dating back to Sept. 3 of last season, defeating Karnes City, 38-14 at Bobcat Stadium.
Bobcats Quarterback Micah Nye dumped four total touchdowns - three passing and one running - on the Badgers to give Comfort its first win of the season, and its first overall victory since Aug. 27, 2021.
Bobcats Coach Brandon Easterly said his team's victory was a complete team effort.
"The guys just kept working and never gave up," he said. "It's a relief to finally get a win."
Nye threw for touchdown passes of 69, 49 and 80 yards, respectively. Nye connected with Mason West on the 69- and 80-yard touchdowns, and with Isaiah Ibarra on the 49-yard score.
Nye's lone rushing touchdown punctuated the Bobcats' victory.
Comfort scored 21 unanswered points after Karnes City produced a 14-10 lead on a Treyton Clark 27-yard touchdown pass to Lisaiah Mendoza at the 56-second mark in the second quarter.
Running back Jaydin Stewart immediately responded on behalf of the Bobcats, scoring on a 55-yard kickoff return 11 seconds later to give Comfort a 17-14 lead at halftime.
With momentum on their side, the Bobcats got froggy to start the second half by kicking an onside kick that they successfully covered. That drive led to Nye's touchdown to Ibarra that gave Comfort a 24-14 lead.
The Bobcats' Israel Lopez drew a pick-6 that led to the Bobcats scoring on their next possession - Nye's 80-yard touchdown pass to West at the 6:17 mark in the third quarter.
Comfort (1-6 overall and 1-2 in district) will look to go on a two-game winning streak and improve its overall record this season to 2-6 when it takes on Dilley this Friday.
Karnes City, meanwhile, drops to 3-5 overall after its loss to the Bobcats.
