The Boerne Champion water polo team made a splash in its playoff opener Tuesday evening when the Chargers defeated Smithson Valley, 26-2.
Champion remains perfect this year and improved to 11-0 overall. The Chargers advanced to the second round and will play Warren on Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Northside Aquatics Center in the morning, with the match scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m.
The Champion girls team also made the playoffs but was eliminated in the first round by Alamo Heights. For results of that match, see this past Wednesday’s online edition of the Boerne Star.
