Both the Boerne Champion and Boerne High tennis teams breezed past their opponents on Tuesday in the first round of the team tennis playoffs.

The Chargers and Hounds scheduled second-round playoff matches for later in the week.

Boerne Champion

Champion tamed the Leander Lions on Tuesday, 10-3, at Dripping Springs and moved on to the second round where they faced MacArthur on Friday morning at the Blossom Athletic Center courts.

The Chargers improved to 13-5 overall with Tuesday’s win.

Boerne High

The Greyhounds powered past Floresville on Tuesday afternoon at the Northside Courts.

BHS had sewn up the win at 10-0 but the coaches let all the matches play out and Boerne recorded the 19-0 victory.

Boerne played Brazosport on Thursday at Victoria West in the next round and won by the score of 19-0 to advance to the third round.

The Greyhounds improved their record to 15-2 overall and will play La Vernia Monday morning at 10 a.m. at one of the Northside facilities in the third round.
