Boerne Champion collected another win in district volleyball last Friday when the Lady Chargers visited Seguin and swept the Lady Matadors.
Champion won the match 25-11, 25-21, 25-21 and improved to 28-8 overall and 6-3 in district. They are home for their next two and hosted New Braunfels Canyon on Tuesday and Wagner on Friday.
When Seguin played at Champion in the first round of district, they gave the Chargers a hard time, but Champion won in four sets, although it almost went to five games.
Last Friday’s match was a little different as Champion tamed the Matadors in straight sets in Seguin.
Erin Fallon had the team’s only ace, Ella Coleman and Kelsey Rogers tied for teamhigh honors in kills with 9 each, while Raylynn Pitts added 8 kills, Erin Martin had 4, Emmy Koke 3 and Ashleigh Williams 1.
Koke and Rogers came up with 1 block apiece, Izzy Maszak tallied 18 assists, Fallon added 11 assists and Gabbie Rossello had 3 assists and 14 digs.
Cameron Seaux recorded a dozen digs, Pitts added 10 digs, Maszak 9, Fallon 7, Coleman 4, Rogers 3, while Williams and Martin added 1 dig apiece.
