It’s getting to be crunch time for area volleyball teams as they start to wind down district play and are hoping to make the playoffs.
Boerne High had lost its last two district matches to Fredericksburg and Davenport and really couldn’t afford to drop last Friday’s match with Bandera.
The Lady Greyhounds played well and stopped their two-game skid, defeating the Lady Bulldogs in straight sets, 25-17, 25-21, 25-14.
Boerne is 20-13 overall and 4-4 in district with four left in 27-4A, and three of those will be on the road.
After playing at Antonian Tuesday in a non-district match, Boerne is at Wimberley on Friday and then visits Navarro next Tuesday.
On Friday, Oct. 21, they play at Canyon Lake before closing out the regular season at home against Fredericksburg on Oct. 25.
In last Friday’s match, Tori Adams dropped in 3 aces, 4 kills, had 1 block, 2 assists and 11 digs, while Tana Lux finished with 18 assists, 7 digs, a block, 5 kills and 2 aces.
Jayleen Reyna tallied 7 digs and an ace, Morgan Naylor and Ceci Theriot both came up with 2 digs, Corinne Coale added 5 digs and an ace, Aubree Stegall finished with a kill and a dig, Ava Rocchio recorded 9 kills and 2.5 blocks, while Paige Stegall chipped in with 6 kills, 1.5 blocks and 2 digs.
