Boerne High helped co-host the Boerne ISD Invitational XC meet held last Saturday morning at Cibolo Creek Elementary.
The Hounds, Chargers and Geneva all participated, as did other schools from the greater San Antonio area.
The BHS varsity competed in the 1A-4A competition where the girls ran a two-mile race and the boys competed in a 5K.
Up next for all the Boerne teams is the district meet in Fredericksburg on Oct. 13.
Varsity Boys
The BHS varsity boys took first place with 20 points to run away from second-place Antonian (87) and third-place BASIS Shavano (88). Boerne’s top-7 runners finished in the top 10 after Carsten Bain, Caleb Benchoff and Barrett Crofut went 1-2-4 with times of 17:57, 18:01 and 18:17 with Bain winning the race.
Cole Palmer, Chase Balderas and Parker Powell were 6-7-8 after recording times of 18:20, 18:21 and 18:35. Ben Macias finished in 18:51, Hunter Prince in 19:07, Dean White in 19:37 and Tyler Rose in 20:57.
Varsity Girls
The Boerne girls finished second with 39 points behind Antonian (24) and ahead of third-place TMI – Episcopal (85).
BHS’s Eleanor Davis won the meet with a time of 11:50, Mary Marino came in fourth at 12:11, Maddie Morris placed ninth in 12:37, Endie Boddie clocked in at 12:46 for 12th, Mahaley Merkens was one spot back in 13th with a 12:49 and Kelsey Farar finished 14th after running a 12:53.
Sophia Kargeorge, Genevieve Sengler, Hailey Luna, Katie Schickedanz and Caroline Baldwin also ran for the Lady Greyhounds.
