The Honorable Rhonda M. Rogers, TSHL Speaker, commented on the upcoming meeting, saying, “We are appreciative to the Boerne community and to Ed Rogers for hosting our quarterly Executive Committee Meeting. We are making an effort to hold these meetings in different parts of the State primarily to increase awareness of the advocacy efforts of TSHL to benefit older Texans, and to give our members an opportunity to meet outside of Austin.”

TSHL is pleased to welcome Jane Paccione, MPA, Managing Director of Collective Impact-Successfully Aging and Living In San Antonio(SALSA), to make a presentation on “Reframing Aging”, at our opening luncheon. Reframing Aging is a long-term social change endeavor designed to improve the public’s understanding of what aging means and the many ways that older adults contribute to our society.

The Texas Silver-Haired Legislature is a non-partisan body created by the 69th Texas Legislature with the adoption of SCR 37, on April 3, 1985. Since its inception, some 700 older Texans have been elected to serve in TSHL, and over 250 bills relating to TSHL resolutions have been passed and signed into law.
