The Boerne Champion volleyball team was on the road Friday and completed the first round of district play with a match at Kerrville Tivy. The Lady Antlers claimed the victory in straight sets after defeating Champion, 25-21, 25-16, 25-15.
Champion is 26-8 overall and falls to 4-3 in district. The Chargers are on the road for two district matches this week as they begin the second round of 26-5A action.
On Tuesday, the Chargers visited Veterans Memorial and on Friday they are at Seguin.
In last Friday’s match, Ella Coleman led the team in kills with 6, Kelsey Rogers added 5 kills, Raylynn Pitts tallied 5 kills, Erin Fallon recorded 7 assists and 1 ace and Izzy Maszak had 5 assists and 1 ace.
Fallon led the team in digs with 12 and Gabriela Rossello was one shy of 12 and finished with 11 digs, Coleman came up with 9 digs, while Maszak and Sadie Hoyt both chipped in with 5 digs.
Emmy Koke recorded 4 blocks, while Rogers, Coleman, Erin Martin and Pitts all contributed 1 block a piece.
