Geneva School of Boerne played St. Michael’s tough in boys basketball but the Crusaders just had too much height for the Eagles.
The Eagles kept pace with St. Michael’s for a while and was trailing by 7 at halftime, but the Crusaders pulled away in the second half and won the game by 20 points, 67-47.
Geneva slips to 11-13 overall and 1-4 in district.
St. Michael’s has three players taller than 6-foot-7 in its starting lineup and the tallest Eagles player is 6-foot-2 and the size advantage showed up in the second half.
Chaz Lutz had a strong game with 18 points to lead Geneva, while Aidan Christal netted 9 and Colton Lutz and Spencer Yarbrough both finished with 8 points.
