The Geneva School of Boerne volleyball team took a break from district action and played Blanco in a non-district match on Friday right before the start of the Blanco-Geneva football game.
The Lady Panthers grounded the Lady Eagles in four sets and won three straight after Geneva took the first set. Blanco picked up the 15-25, 25-22, 27-25, 25-18 win.
Geneva drops to 15-15 overall and was back in action Tuesday to host Holy Cross. After that, they play at Corpus Christi John Paul II.
In last Friday’s match, Ella Babic finished with 14 kills and 5 digs, Kenzie Cates came up with 7 digs, Abby Bower recorded 6 digs and Karynn Garrow registered in all five categories after she tallied 18 kills, 2 assists, 12 digs, 1 block and 4 aces.
Avery Eggerss chipped in with 13 digs, Cammy Curtis had 3 kills, 3 digs and 6 aces, Lindsay Lee totaled 7 kills and Ella Owens finished with 38 assists, 10 digs and 2 kills.
NOTES: Blanco made it a clean sweep for its two teams that visited Geneva on Friday. After the Panthers volleyball team won in four sets, the Blanco football team defeated the Geneva football squad, 26-7, in Boerne.
