Leon Brimhall recently announced his candidacy for Kendall County commissioner in Precinct 2.
Brimhall has resided in Kendall County for more than 35 years. Since 2011, he has served as Precinct 2 justice of the peace. Prior to that, he served as Precinct 2’s county commissioner in 1993-94 and was an assistant development manager from 1995-99.
Brimhall said he has more than 16 years of experience and dedication to Kendall County and said he “is invested in his con stituents and in the county’s successes.”
When he moved to Boerne, Brimhall said involvement in the community was essential. So, he said he coached youth baseball and soccer for six years and played softball, indoor basketball, kickball and volleyball for multiple years through Boerne Parks and Recreation.
For 16 years, Brimhall served as a Kendall County Fair director and served on the executive board in numerous positions, including president (2009). He currently is a senior director. Brimhall said he is a supporter of the Kendall County Junior Livestock Show, and in the past was a
KCJLS supporter as a member of the formerly known “Kreutzberg Cartel.”
More recently, he has served eight years on the YMCA executive board with two of those years as president. To date, he serves as the president of the Burning Tree Condominiums HOA and has served in that capacity for the last nine years.
A native Texan, Brimhall was born in Graham and grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and earned a bachelor of science in education degree from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in San Marcos.
Brimhall is a 2005 graduate of the Leadership Boerne program sponsored by the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce. He owned and operated Artworks, an art gallery and artisan frame shop, in downtown Boerne for seven years.
Since 2006, he has had a Texas real estate license, and he is an 11-year member of the statewide Justice of the Peace & Constables Association (JPCA). In 2018, Brimhall served as president of the South Texas Justice of the Peace & Constables Association (STJPCA), where he is a lifetime member.
Brimhall said he is a conservative Republican with extensive experience, knowledge and history of Kendall County. He said he is committed to serving all constituents and preserving the county’s quality of life, a safe environment and conserving the small county feel.
The primary election is March 1.
